Making Their Money
Prisons make their money by keeping
facility full with criminals. Theirs a company pledging to keep them 90% full.
They will do this by lobbying on capital hill, talking to head political
figures to pass laws to put people in jail. By doing this government contracts
out companies to detain and maintain people in their custody and pay a per diem
rate by how many people they have.
Own and Ran
Prisons are privately own and operated but
are contracted out by the government to take care of prisoners. With a few
companies involved the main one is called “CCA” or Correction Coorpation of
America.
