Huey P. Newton
     Huey was born Feb.17, 1942 in Monroe, Louisiana and at an early age moved to Oakland California. His mom and dad name was Armelia and Walter Newton, his dad had to worked multiples jobs to support the family because he had seven children including Huey who was the youngest.

    Huey Graduated From Oakland Tech High School in 1959 and also attended Oakland City College for law and dropped out in 1966. And later on went University Santa Cruz and earned a PH.D in 1980.

     Huey married twice first to Gwen Fontaine from (1977-1982), second marriage Fredericka Slaughter (1984-1989) and adopted all the children from both marriage.

Bobby Seale and Huey P. Newton 
     While in college Huey met Bobby Seale and formed the  Black Panther Party in 1966. The purpose was the observation of the police interaction with African Americans and to end police brutality.

     Huey and Bobby Met Eldridge Cleaver in 1967 to published Black Panther Newspaper. purpose was to keep the party focus on their goals.

     In 1989 Huey Newton was found murdered outside a crack house. Second wife Fredericka Newton established a foundation in his honor and his beliefs.

Huey Dream were for African-American Communities to have equal opportunities to those of other citizens. His leader ship helped paved the way for improvement for the black citizens.

     Here are some free services that they provided and Started WIC Program, Free Ambulance Program, and Free Food Program. and some community service programs they started are Sickle Cell Anemia Research Program, Health Classes, and Free housing Cooperative Program.

Making Money

Prison Making Their Money

     Prisons make their money by keeping facility full with criminals. Theirs a company pledging to keep them 90% full. They will do this by lobbying on capital hill, talking to head political figures to pass laws to put people in jail. By doing this government contracts out companies to detain and maintain people in their custody and pay a per diem rate by how many people they have.

     Prisons are privately own and operated but are contracted out by the government to take care of prisoners. With a few companies involved the main one is called “CCA” or Correction Coorpation of America.
